Play Rangers

NORCA is pleased to announce a new service starting in October!

Funded by the BIG Lottery for three years, and supported by Norwich City Council, NORCA will be running a Play Ranger service. The Play Rangers will initially focus the service on two of Norwich's community parks - Eaton and Waterloo. However during the three years, NORCA hopes to deliver play opportunities in other community parks and play areas in Norwich.

Playrangers in Park

The two part time Play Rangers, Ruthe and Isabel, are CRB checked, trained in Child Protection, and have experience in working with children and young people. The Rangers will be based in the parks at specific times of the day and week to encourage children and young people to use the park and play areas more often. They will provide a safe adult presence in the park and play area, as well as introducing new play opportunities, semi structured/informal play and mini events!

The Play Rangers will also be visiting schools and community groups to find out what parents, children and young people like about their parks and play areas, what they don't like and ideas for improvements. The Play Rangers will be working with local organisations to ensure that needs are met and that parents, children and young people have the confidence to enjoy the play facilities in their local park.
