Kayleigh Simpson

I am the cello tutor for the In Harmony Project at Larkman Primary School. Previous to this job I worked for a charity called New Cut Arts Centre in Halesworth and took on the new role of Youth Project Officer as well as the posts of Box Office and Evening Manager. Helping local schools have more experiences in the arts was an enjoyable challenge and links nicely with working for In Harmony.

I am particularly interested and passionate about music and people, and looked into a career as a music therapist for a while. I think the In Harmony project is very close to music therapy; helping vulnerable children through the aid of music is a proven and worthwhile experience that I don't think enough people know about or give credit to.

I'm sure music affects so many people without them actually knowing it is. I'm positive this project will stay with the children and families we are working with throughout their lives and that it will spread into the local communities we are trying to make a difference in.
