Norwich Singing Squad - Young person's group (11 to 18yrs) The Singing Squad is a fantastic opportunity for young people (11 to 18 years) to get involved in singing in a group. This group started out as a NORCA project, funded by the Big Lottery, but after two years the group became independent of NORCA, run by the young people involved, with adult support. The Squad combines vocal development with performance and is for anyone, regardless of level of experience.
The material the Squad sings is varied, including pop, gospel, show tunes, folk and more. The group tries to perform at least once a term, and has given a number of performances including festivals, benefit events and showcases. The group offers young people the opportunity to learn to sing or develop their voices in a friendly and informal setting.
The Singing Squad meets weekly in term-time (see below for details). The group is looked after by Cathie Davies, and tutors who work with them include Jon Baker, Sally Campion-Jones and Charlotte Arculus, all highly experienced voice and performance coaches.
