NORCA has a long-standing commitment to developing facilities for the cultural and community sector. Since leaving Waterloo Park Pavilion we have been looking for opportunities to revisit this side of our remit. Our occupancy and development of Martineau Memorial Hall provides just such an opportunity, and we have started to develop a creative hub around a shared office for like-minded arts and creative sector organisations. Funding through the Norfolk Community Construction Fund will enable us to complete the development of the building. Our vision is to:
- Provide shared office space, for like-minded creative, cultural and community organisations.
- Offer managed workspace options, such as hot desks, meeting rooms and internet access.
- Develop a workshop / making space.
- Develop a year round programme of workshops and short courses.
Funding will also enable us to significantly improve the heat and sound insulation, through the installation of secondary glazing, and instal a platform lift to the first floor to improve disabled access.
