Monobloco are one of the most exciting groups to come out of Rio in the last few years. They have developed a reputation for the sheer vibrancy and quality of their show, which mixes traditional and contemporary material into a high energy performance. Their 2007 tour of the UK wowed audiences across the country and made us eager to get them back in 2008.

In 2008 Monobloco toured the UK with a 12 piece band, playing to over 10,000 people in 14 dates, that included three sell-out nights at the Guanabara in London, big audiences (600+) at the Leeds Met, Norwich and Hitchin, three dates in Ireland, and culminating in a Womad, Siam Stage performance that was recorded by BBC3 for broadcast.
