The Acorn Grants Multimedia Project ran from April 2002 to March 2003. The project had two strands: the music strand covered the development of studio skills and teaching people how to create dance music; the Web-design strand taught how to create a website. Both strands were aimed at those with limited opportunity, particularly those unemployed and those between the ages of 13 and 16 years old who have been excluded from school. The project mainly drew on young people from the Catton area of Norwich, particularly through the Pupil Referral Unit and Include. The project had over 70 participants, lead to the completion of two websites and over 20 completed pieces of music.
