Music Makers Summer Course
(Age limit 13 to 18 yrs, £9 for three days)

This exciting course run in August 2008, offered young people the opportunity to work with other musicians on creating and performing their own original material.

A Rock School with a difference led by Peter Murdoch of the Sargasso Trio, this three day course offered participants the chance to work together to create one or more pieces, which culminated in a performance at The Greenstock Festival, in Heigham park, Norwich. Participants also took away the material they had created on a CD. This workshop was particularly aimed at young people who play a musical instrument, even it only a little. It gave participants the opportunity to

• create their own music,
• work with industry experienced tutors,
• develop musical and compositional skills,
• develop instrumental skills,
• learn how to record themselves, and
• perform at the The Greenstock Festival and opportunities to perform at the Garage summer show, Norwich.

"It was fantastic fun, I'm really happy with the track I recorded, and performing for the first time infront of so many people at the Greenstock Festival was really scary and exciting.
