MONOBLOCO

Rio de Janeiro's hottest bloco (carnival band) came to Norwich with their exciting and eclectic mix of traditional Brazilian and contemporary grooves, playing samba, funk and pop music, Carioca style.

They are at the forefront of reviving Rio's street carnival music, with their pre-carnival parties attracting over 4,000 people a night. In July 2007, nine members of Monobloco brought their show to the Norwich Arts Centre. This was the event of 2007. Only 270 people experienced their coming it was the place to be.

Monobloco were supported by DJ Hej, straight from Bota Fogo, Rio and Sure Delight in the bar.
